Missions education at BridgeWay Baptist Church is focused on four main areas of emphasis.
Annie Armstrong Easter Offering in the Spring was previously called "Home Missions" but has been revamped to include all of North America and Canada and named North American Missions.
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in December was originally named "Foreign Missions" but is now "International Missions" (between nations). In December 2017 we invited a local missionary couple, Joel and Heather Strahan, who had recently spent three years in Russia to share their experiences of learning the language and culture, relating to the people, and rearing three daughters in a former Soviet country. They also brought a pot of traditional Russian soup - borscht- and crusty bread for tasting at our Wednesday night pot-luck supper.
The Margaret Lackey State Offering concentrates on needs within our own state of Mississippi. We have had a number of resource speakers from the Magnolia State to share about prison ministry, disaster relief, Camp Garaway, college campus ministry, Christian Women's Job Corp, to name a few.
On a local level we periodically support a pregnancy crisis center,
Sav-A-Life, in Oxford by inviting the director of the facility to speak to us in January on Sanctity of Life Sunday. Some of our members regularly attend the annual fund-raiser banquet, and we have filled a baby bassinet with infant supplies and clothes and delivered them to the center.
